SOLID WOOD SPONSORS LOCAL BASKETBALL ACADEMY
Solid Wood is solidly behind a new interior basketball initiative called the BB4ALL Academy which translates to Basketball 4All Academy. Started by professional basketball Coach Goran Nogic to train kids age 8 to 18 to be excellent basketball players.
Zelko Stojsavljevic the owner of Solid Wood says, “I really am behind this progressive initiative for kids. The academy offers training and youth development for kids from ages 9 to 18. My son Marko Stojsavljevic was going to Thompson River University and has always been an avid basketball player. Now he is coaching kids at this unique new facility which just built a state-of-the-art gym for practises, tournaments, and ongoing training. We are proud to sponsor such an academy.”
THE FIRST BASKETBALL ACADEMY IN THE AREA
There are many basketball academies in the lower mainland, but this is the first all year round basketball academy to service the Kamloops / Thompson River area. Professional coach Goran Nogic first moved to the region to coach basketball at the Thompson River University. There he decided to give a community what they needed: a new basketball facility which could train young people for this sport all year around. The biggest obstacle was finding the right facility. What they needed, they found that at Oasis Pentecostal Church. This full-size basketball court currently offers the youth of this area the ability to train every day in a week, participate in local tournaments and get on going coaching for both elementary and secondary students. It is a fabulous new facility that is getting rave reviews under the excellent leadership of Coach Goran Nogic.
